As per Law360 the High Court has ruled that the government needs parliamentary permission before it can kickstart the process to quit the European Union, in a landmark ruling which limits the scope of Prime Minister Theresa May’s executive powers.
The decision creates a new precedent in limiting the government’s executive power.
The case, brought by campaigners who argued that only Parliament has the right to start the exit, now threatens to stall the government’s plan to follow through on the nation’s vote to quit the EU in a June referendum.
All very well and good, for the Remainers, but this uncertainty will screw the entire country.
