The Ban On Diesel/Petrol Cars Pipe Dream
The Government will commit to banning the sale of all new diesel and petrol cars by 2040 in a bid to encourage people to switch to electric and hybrid vehicles.
This of course is nothing more than a pipe dream. More to the point there are easy ways around such bans, eg sell the new car as "second hand".

It's raining, Mrs C asked me to take the bins out, I said "I'll deal with it". I meant it in the Corbyn sense of the phrase, ie "no". https://t.co/XB4GiaRGUu— James Cleverly (@JamesCleverly) July 23, 2017

When Is A Promise Not A Promise?
Question: When is a promise not a promise?
Answer: When it is an "ambition"
Unsurprisingly Labour have admitted that their "promise" to cancel student debt was bollocks!

May's National Government
It would seem, based on an extract of the text of Theresa May's speech scheduled for tomorrow (published in the Guardian), that May is edging towards forming a national government.
"At this critical time in our history, we can either be timid or we can be bold.Irrespective of the reaction of Labour and the Liberals, the Tories are not going to be best pleased with this idea!
We can play it safe or we can strike out with renewed courage and vigour, making the case for our ideas and values and challenging our opponents to contribute, not just criticise … In everything we do, we will act with an unshakable sense of purpose to build the better, fairer Britain which we all want to see."
