This week has been the week for apologies, first Dominic Cummings apologised for being late for the Rose garden briefing then the BBC offers a half hearted "apology" for the Maitlis Monologue.
Despite the fact the "apology" doesn't really apologise, the BBC were clearly rattled by the number of complaints (they are still flooding in) as they set up a special page for those who wished to complain about the monologue.
The odd thing is, how the monologue got through editorial control in the first place given that Maitlis was reading from an auto-cue?
