Supreme Court Nixes Rwanda Plan

The Supreme Court has nixed the government's Rwanda plan, citing ECHR and various other international obligations that apparently override our own legal system.

Sunak intends to rework the Rwanda agreement and revisit the UK legal framework (whatever that means?). He intends to address the nation this afternoon.

Meanwhile various sections of the Tory party are seething, as such he might find himself ousted before the press conference.

The Supreme Court Brexit Ruling - A False Hope

The Supreme Court has rules that Parliament must vote on whether the government can start the Brexit process and trigger Article 50.

The Remain camp is flush with the sense of "victory", yet their flush will not last long as this is nothing more than a false hope.

The court has also ruled the Scottish Parliament and Welsh and Northern Ireland assemblies did not need a say. A clear victory for Brexit, as the devolved governments won't be able to derail the process.

Additionally, it should be noted that the court stayed well clear of giving a ruling on whether Brexit should go ahead.

Brexit Secretary David Davis has promised a parliamentary bill "within days" (quite possibly tomorrow), and that bill will be a bare bones simple bill indeed. It is expected to be passed by the Commons within a fortnight.

Theresa May has also brought forward her deadline for triggering A50 to mid March.

Like it or not Brexit will occur, as per the wish of the British people, irrespective of law suits and whinging by those who didn't muster enough support to remain in the EU!

Theresa May Has Shot The Supreme Court's Fox

Theresa May secures Article 50 victory in the Commons as Parliament passes amended Brexit motion by 448 to 75.

Ironically the Supreme Court will resume today, without any mention of the fact that their deliberations are now completely irrelevant.

As I have been saying all along, this hearing is a waste of time!

Supreme Court Live Feed of Brexit Hearing

Those of you who want to watch the Supreme Court hearing of the A50 Brexit challenge may do so via this link:

This is of course an utter waste of time and money, and an unnecessary delay. Theresa May should invoke Article 50 by writing to the EU, once she has done that the decision the by Supreme Court will be irrelevant.
