Boris has announced further unlocking measures (eg pubs to open on 4th July etc) and the end of the daily 17:00 briefings/press conferences.
Unsurprisingly the media are doing their best to spin the negative.
Firstly they claim that SAGE has not fully endorsed the package of measures.
Secondly they are bemoaning the fact that the daily briefings have ended.
Wrt the easing of restrictions; SAGE's role is to offer a range of options, with the risks and potential outcomes explained.
It is the government's role to judge the risk/benefits, and to select the options that produce the best outcome having taken into account the associated risks.
As such, whether the media like it or not, the plan outlined by Boris comes from options presented by SAGE.
Wrt the media moaning about the ending of the daily briefings, they have brought this upon themselves by their long-winded repetitive questions, designed to promote their own personal agendas with little thought to enlightening the people who actually want to understand where we are heading.
