Carrie Antoinette - The Dangers of Cake

 

Carrie Johnson has taken a severe beating in the press over the weekend, probably in part somewhat unfairly, and will doubtless be dumped upon again by Cummings in his substack expected later today.

She is not the first spouse of a world leader to be vilified. However, aside from Marie Antoinette, she is one of the rare ones to have been brought down by cake.

That being said, Boris's troubles are of his own making (irrespective of whether Carrie tries to interfere or not). As such the media should concentrate on the key issues that are important, eg inflation, energy, NHS backlog etc.

Dominic Cummings has laid into Carrie Johnson again, this time in an interview with the Spectator.

Cummings claims the PM said his then-girlfriend-now-wife Carrie was driving him “crackers” and that he wanted to “find her a job with lots of foreign travel — could we get the Cabinet secretary to give her a job on COP26, traveling round with Kate Middleton.” 

It's almost as though Cummings is jealous that Carrie won Boris's heart and attention over that of Cummings.

There are currently shenanigans aplenty in Number 10, as Boris tries to wrestle with the competing egos and factions within his "in house" team.

Having first promised a sop job to Lee Cain, Boris has had to unpromise it as a result of an outcry from others including Carrie.

Cain has now flounced off, and Cummings is pondering doing the same; with rumours that David Frost may also go. 

I doubt very much that Frost will go until the Brexit endgame is over. However, be that as it may, nonsense like this in the middle of a national crisis (partially self inflicted) and so close to Brexit deal/no deal is an utter disgrace. It reflects very poorly on the prima donnas involved, and poorly on Boris for allowing this to happen.

Shape up or ship out Boris, you have until year end to sort yourself and your team out!
