Never Say Never

Fresh from his stint in the jungle, Nigel Farage teases the Tory Party by suggesting he might team up with Boris.

All very well and interesting, but neither of them are MPs!

Johnson Forgets Password

Boris Johnson has been unable to give the Covid inquiry WhatsApp messages from his old iPhone because he has forgotten the passcode. This has led to accusations that he is trying to hide something, but Johnson has insisted that he simply can't remember the code.

The story has all the makings of a Ken Follett novel. There's the mysterious passcode, the government's attempts to block the release of the messages, and Johnson's own protestations of innocence. It's a tale of intrigue, suspense, and maybe even a little bit of comedy.

But there's also a serious side to this story. The Covid inquiry is trying to get to the bottom of what happened during the pandemic, and Johnson's messages could be key to understanding the government's decision-making. If he's really forgotten the passcode, then that's unfortunate. But if he's lying, then that's a serious matter.

Rather than take risk of device disabling, security experts are trying to find a way of getting round it His iPhone has a much higher level of security than normal iPhones, which disable after 10+ attempts.

Government security experts trying to establish if they can stop the iPhone erasing itself if passcode is wrong.

Only time will tell what the truth is. But in the meantime, we can all enjoy the mystery of Boris Johnson's iPhone passcode. It's a story that has everything: suspense, intrigue, and maybe even a little bit of comedy.

Schroedinger's Vote

Certain media organisations, which should know better, are prattling on about MPs voting on today's Boris report that will ban him for 90 days.

To be absolutely clear, it is not guaranteed that there will be a vote.

The proceedings will begin with Commons leader Penny Mordaunt tabling a one-line motion suggesting MPs approve the committee’s report. Labour and the other parties have tacitly agreed not to amend the motion.

A debate will then take place, and MPs will be asked to say whether they approve the motion by shouting “aye” or “no.” While one or two Boris loyalists such as Bill Cash may shout “no,” Speaker Lindsay Hoyle is unlikely to call a full vote unless more than a small number of MPs follow suit.

In other news, it's Boris's birthday today.

Boris Decides This is His Last PMQ

Even though next week Boris is meant to attend PMQ, his final words at today's PMQ were:

“This may be our last confrontation

It’s true that I leave not at a time of my choosing… but I leave with my head held high”

The question is, does he know that there will be a stitch up next week and the Tory membership will be denied a vote?

The Day My Number Came Up

The threshold  of 54 has been reached, and a vote will be held this evening.

If Boris survives, the rules will be changed so that he can be challenged in less than a year.

Hoisted With His Own Petard

Having banged on about Boris's rule breaking for months now, it is more than ironic that Starmer also broke the rules and attempted to cover up that breach.

Starmer has now pulled out of a planned speaking event today.

The truly shocking aspect of the last few months is that the media, the Tory Party and the Labour Party have expended vast amounts of time and effort obsessing about covid rules breaches, when they should be devoting their energies to more important matters eg inflation, NHS, housing, law and order etc etc.

Ukraine Names Street After Boris

Away from the theatrics of Westminster, in a move guaranteed to antagonise certain sections of the British media and others, Ukraine has named a street after Boris.

The council in Fontanka, on the outskirts of Odesa, issued an order to rename Mayakovsky Street as "Boris Johnson Street" instead.

It stated:

“The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is one of the most principled opponents of the Russian invasion, a leader in sanctions on Russia and defence support for Ukraine.

Rename Mayakovsky Street to Boris Johnson Street.”

The news was announced online by a council official who said:

“We have new heroes.”

Boris and Rishi Fined

Boris and Rishi received FPNs yesterday for the one event that they didn't actually expect to be fined for.

Not least because the Times reported on it the day after it occurred in 2020, without anyone so much as batting an eyelid!

Given the "methodology" and snail's pace of the Met, it is entirely possible that this won't be the only fine levied on Boris.

The Enemy Within

Yesterday a clip was widely circulated on social media to frame a narrative of Boris Johnson being snubbed at the NATO summit.

Certain sections of the media and various "celebrities", with an axe to grind against the Tories/Boris, chose to use it to frame their own political narrative.

The list of shame includes, but was not limited to:

- The Independent

- The BBC

- Channel 4 News

- The Mirror

- Nigel Farage

- Deborah Meaden etc

Danny Baker, to his credit, realised he had been duped and apologised:

Here is the reality

The media do themselves and the country no favours by deliberately misleading people in this way, especially when we are on the verge of war with Russia.

Boris Adopts Stalinist Measures To Seize Oligarchs' Properties

It seems that Michael Gove is drawing up plans for the government to seize oligarchs’ homes without paying them compensation.

Boris is supportive of this proposal.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out!
