When politicians don't know what to do about a problem, rather then admit that, they try to look busy.

Yesterday's tinkering with the rules wrt pub/restaurants opening hours and wearing masks when not seated is a classic example of the "look busy" tactic.

Sadly for those who derive a living from the hospitality trade this will negatively impact their lives, whilst having bugger all effect on Covid.
