Jones Knifes Burnham Squarely In The Front

Given that it was in the public domain yesterday that digital id wasn't funded, it is noteworthy that "journalists" such as Rigby didn't mention it when trumpeting the £45 per annum saving in VAT on fuel bills.

Only when Jones blasted it out on twitter, did they bother to mention it!

Miliband's Crazy Net Zero Agenda and The 10% Energy Price Hike

Ofgem has announced that energy bills are to rise by 10% a year from October as it raises the price cap to £1,717.

Meanwhile, Miliband continues with his unhinged eye-wateringly expensive (estimated to be £320BN by 20250) net zero agenda which will:

-wreck the economy

-put energy prices up

-cause power cuts

-impoverish families

Ironically back in May, Labour promised energy bills would fall by £600!

The Price of Energy

Not unsurprisingly politicians and media pundits et al are becoming very vexed about the forthcoming rise in energy bills.

The usual blame games are being played out, along with various solutions (some of which are more credible than others).

Whatever "solutions" the government eventually gets round to implementing it will be but a temporary fix (as the cause of the rise is supply and demand).

Britain and Europe have got their energy priorities in a complete mess over the last few years. Relying on Russia and going green has failed. Until the capacity is built into the network to supply green energy, and wean Europe off Russian gas, we will still be subject to price fluctuations of the oil and gas markets.

In the meantime Britain and Europe are screwed.

Total cost is around £9 billion

Boris Backs Kwasi

Despite the media hysteria over Boris having a short holiday, it seems that Number 10 can still function with him being in Spain. The same hysterical media are reporting the Boris has backed Kwasi, in his battle with Rishi over bailouts for energy intensive industries.

Now whilst in the short term this, if it goes ahead, may provide a feel good factor there are a few uncomfortable questions:

1 Why did these industries not hedge against rising energy prices?

2 Are we sure that they have no other means of funding there energy bills (eg cut dividends, borrow)?

3 Is it now the norm for businesses, so used to Covid handouts, to run bleating to the government everytime something goes wrong?

4 How much extra tax will we be forced to fork out to save these companies?

Cameron Moves The Energy Goalposts

As per Simon Gompertz:
"First Cameron said energy firms would "have to" put us on lowest tariffs, then it was "ensure", now govt will just "help" us get them."

Barking Mad - Greg Barker

The appropriately named Greg Barker is rather fond of his pet dachshund Otto, so much so in fact that he apparently brings to dog to work with him and heats the dog's puppy warmer in the staff microwave.

Aside from the health implications of using a food heating device for warming a pet's warmer, is this so very bad?

Well Barker is in fact the Energy Minister, and his office is the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

Given that the government is so concerned about the alleged environmental damage done by greenhouse gases and is advising us not waste energy, is it not a tad wasteful and hypocritical of Barker to waste energy on warming the dog's warmer?
