Alba

Alex Salmond has launched a new political party (Alba), with the alleged intention of helping create a "super majority" for independence.

Salmond claims that the party is no threat to the SNP (thanks to the peculiarities of the Scottish electoral system).

However, Sturgeon is less than happy and a number of SNP members have jumped ship.

It's a Funny Old World!

It's a funny old world when the Labour party castigate the Tories for weakening the nation's defences, and when the Tories takeover Liverpool council with the full backing of Labour!

Sturgeon's Curate's Egg - Victory and Defeat at The Same Sitting

Sturgeon has been found guilty of misleading the Scottish Parliament by the Holyrood Committee, and found not to have breached he ministerial code by the Hamilton report.

Thus, in the short term, she has got off the hook and (despite the efforts by the Scottish Tories) she will win the vote of no confidence.

That being said, there are now calls for a judge led inquiry; so she is not out the woods yet!

Bristol Shitty

Rent-a-mob and the general scum that rioted in Bristol last night, did more to ensure that the Police & Crime Bill will get through Parliament than any eloquent words from a politician could hope to do!

Congratulations To Paul Williams

Congratulations to Doctor Paul Williams on being selected as the Labour candidate for Hartlepool, having lost Stockton South in 2019.

He was, by all accounts, the standout choice" out of a shortlist of one.

Sturgeon Misled Parliament

The fish rots from the head down.

It has been leaked that the committee investigating Sturgeon has found her guilty of misleading parliament.

Next week will be interesting, when it will be revealed if Sturgeon "knowingly" misled parliament!

Sturgeon is facing a separate inquiry into whether she breached the ministerial code.

James Hamilton, Ireland's former director of public prosecutions, is due to publish the findings of his investigation in the coming days.

The Odd Couple - The Teflon Twins

Like it or not Dame Dick and Mayor Khan aren't going anywhere.

This is despite presiding over:

-unsafe streets for many years (muggings, assaults, knife crime, murders etc)

-allowing the BLM and XR rabble to disrupt and damage London last year, and

-this weekend's debacle over the the vigil

Khan will easily win re-election to the post of mayor this May, and Dick has been given the public backing of both the PM and Home Secretary (which means she will see her five year role through until the end next year).

All of this means that the streets of London will not become any safer.
