It looks like the shine might be tarnishing on Rishi Sunak's halo, as reports indicate that the Treasury (always cast as the pantomime villain by other departments looking for more cash) may have actually overstepped the mark this time in its penny pinching ways.
Emails show senior civil servants protested an instruction from the Treasury blocking guidance that would have explained to those isolating how to use the furlough scheme to claim sick pay.
Now this, as Labour have correctly picked up on, may well have caused some people not to self isolate and thus may well have increased the number of infections/illnesses.
Rishi must be thankful that his grilling by Andrew Neil on GB News came before this story hit the headlines.
