Starmer has set up a new cabinet committee to deal with the fallout for Iran - it's called the Middle East Response Committee (MERC).
The PM is chairing the first meeting of it today. Antonia Romeo, the cabinet secretary, will host regular meetings with officials.
It will achieve absolutely nothing!
